for a competition.

Denbigh High School VBODA All-State Band Finalist


On February 26 2000,  five band students from Denbigh High School  representing
their school and the District VIII All-District Band, auditioned at JMU for the
All-State Band. All five were selected  for the VBODA All-State Band.  These
students will be traveling to Charlottesville, VA on April 6 to rehearse with a
distinguished guest conductor and other  representatives from across the state.
The following Denbigh High School Band students were selected:
(Front left) Katie Meier - 21st chair Clarinet; Nicholas Tracy - 3rd chair
Alto Saxophone; Willie Brandon - 1st chair Baritone; (top left) Adam Waller -
1st chair Alto Saxophone; Glen Gray - 1st chair Baritone Saxophone; and
Band Director Mr. Chris Smith. The VBODA All-State Band and Orchestra
Concert will be held at Charlottesville High School on April 8, at 2:00 pm
